It is commonly found medical problem of our times and its earliest description goes back to 3550 years ago.During those days it was a rare ailment.An Egyptian Physician Hesy Re gave the first description of Diabetes about 3550 years ago.
Around 100BC,Chakra and Susruta first brought to notice that the urine of diabets patients attracted ants due to its sweetness,hence they named it "Madhumeha"(Honey urine).
This was a story of Leonard Thomson,a 14 year old young boy,was one such patient who was diagnosed as a case of Type 1Diabetes and was waiting for the inevitable in a Toronto General Hospital.Like thousands of other patients with Type 1 Diabetes therre seemed no hope for Leonard Thomson.
