The number of diabetic patients are rapidly increasing all over the world but the trends are different for different countries. At some places the growth rate is faster then the others.Differences in lifestyle and role of racial factors are the obvious reasons.
In developed countries great importnace is attatched to physical activity and so diaetes has been brought under control to an extent. At the same time in India,Pakisthan and Gulf countries, the number of diabetic paties are rpidly increasing.A changing and more prosperous lifestyle with little emphasis on physical activity is responsible for this.
A survey conducted by World Health Organization shows that the largest number of diabeticpatients in the world is in India, hence Indian has been accorded the status of"Diabetic Capital" of the world.
