well you will get sleep when u drive a vehicle..This was the time before medication.My legs started burning..Felt like somebody should help in my pain getting away..My father used to do that.....Still the pain dont at all stop..Nights were hard to spend at times as u need to wake up and got to the restroom 5 to 6 times a night..The effect of this was I used get sleep in the college times

Recent Statistics
In 1995 every 7th diabetic person in the world was an Indian & by 2025 evry 5th diabetic person will be an Indian.In 1995 the number of diabetic patients in India was 1.94 Crore and by 2025 this number swell to 5.70 Crores.
This number of diabetic patients is rapidly increasing in India but when more worrying is the factor that the younger age group is being more affected.At present 30% of the diabetic patients are in the age group of 20 to 40 yrs.

The number of diabetic patients are rapidly increasing all over the world but the trends are different for different countries.At some places the growth rate is faster then the others.Differences in lifestyle and role of racial factors are the obvious reasons.
In developed countries great importnace is attatched to physical activity and so diaetes has been brought under control to an extent.At the same time in India,Pakisthan and Gulf countries,the number of diabetic paties are rpidly increasing.A changing and more prosperous lifestyle with little emphasis on physical activity is responsible for this.
A survey conducted by World Health Organization shows that the largest number of diabeticpatients in the world is in India,hence Indian has been accorded the status of"Diabetic Capital" of the world.

Around 100BC,Chakra and Susruta first brought to notice that the urine of diabets patients attracted ants due to its sweetness,hence they named it "Madhumeha"(Honey urine).
This was a story of Leonard Thomson,a 14 year old young boy,was one such patient who was diagnosed as a case of Type 1Diabetes and was waiting for the inevitable in a Toronto General Hospital.Like thousands of other patients with Type 1 Diabetes therre seemed no hope for Leonard Thomson.
